Salutations

Category :
email correspondence
Date Observed :
Frequently from US work colleagues.

A recent trend from the US on business (work) email correspondence.
We are all used to the signing off on an email with "best regards" "regards" etc in the same way you used to write on a letter "Yours sincerely", "yours truly" etc.
Americans have now gone one better and shortened the email salutation to a simple
"Best"

Not best regards or best wishes, but simply Best.
I am still trying to establish what they mean.
